Last updated: 6/7/2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Olympian Hourglass LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use Tongues (the "App") and related services (together, the "Services").
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who We Are
The App is operated by Olympian Hourglass LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of Colorado, United States. If you have questions about this Policy or your information, contact us at olympianhourglass@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide to us
- Account information: your email address and/or phone number, and a password or the credentials used to sign in (for example, Sign in with Apple or another login provider).
- Profile information: an optional profile picture and, if you choose to provide it, your age or date of birth.
- Learning content you submit: text, photos or images, audio recordings, documents, and links (such as songs or videos) that you provide so the App can translate them, generate study materials, read them aloud, or otherwise help you learn. This may include content captured through your device's camera, microphone, or photo library, or pasted or shared into the App.
- Learning activity: your decks, generated study materials, progress, review history, streaks, points, preferences, and the answers you give during onboarding.
- Communications: information you provide when you contact us for support or otherwise communicate with us.
b. Information we collect automatically
- Usage data: how you interact with the App, such as features used, sessions, and actions taken.
- Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, language settings, and unique device or app identifiers.
- Approximate location: general location may be inferred from your IP address or device settings. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you grant permission and a feature requires it.
c. Information from third parties
- App stores and payment processors: when you purchase a subscription or make a payment, the transaction is handled by Apple, Google, or another payment provider. We receive limited information such as confirmation of purchase and subscription status, but we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
- Login providers: if you sign in using a third-party service, we receive the information that service shares with us (such as your email or a unique identifier), subject to your settings with that provider.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account;
- provide, operate, and improve the App's features, including translation, study-material generation, audio narration, and personalized learning;
- save your learning progress and personalize your experience;
- process subscriptions and payments;
- communicate with you about the App, including service updates, support, and (where permitted) marketing, from which you can opt out;
- send push notifications, if you enable them;
- maintain the security and integrity of the Services and prevent fraud or abuse;
- understand how the App is used and develop new features; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4. AI and Automated Processing
The App uses artificial intelligence to provide core features such as translation, generation of study materials, and text-to-speech narration. To deliver these features, content you submit (such as text, images, audio, or links you provide for translation or learning) may be sent to and processed by trusted third-party AI service providers that act on our behalf.
We share only what is needed to perform the requested feature. We do not use this content to identify you beyond providing the Services, and we instruct our providers to handle it under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms. We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you using solely automated processing.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers: with vendors who perform services for us, such as cloud hosting and storage, AI processing, analytics, customer support, payment processing, and communications. They may access information only to perform these services for us.
- Other users (social features): if you choose to share a deck or other content, or if you make information public within the App, that content and your associated profile name or picture may be visible to other users. Please see Section 6.
- Legal and safety: when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Olympian Hourglass LLC, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- Aggregated or de-identified data: we may share information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
6. User Content and Social Features
The App may allow you to create, save, and—now or in the future—share content such as study decks. If you share content or add content shared by others, that content, along with the profile name or picture you have chosen, may be visible to other users of the App.
Please do not share content that is unlawful, infringing, harmful, or that you do not have the right to share. We do not permit the upload or sharing of sexually explicit, abusive, or otherwise prohibited material, and we may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our terms. You are responsible for the content you choose to share.
7. Device Permissions
Some features require your permission to access certain parts of your device, including the camera (to capture text or images for translation), the microphone (for speech-to-text and audio features), your photo library (to import images), and notifications. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. Revoking a permission may limit certain features.
8. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information as described in Section 9.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and

11. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users [13] years of age and older. (In some regions, a higher minimum age applies; for example, users in the European Economic Area must be at least 16, or the minimum age set by local law.)
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL], and we will take steps to delete it.
12. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States or other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence. Where required, we take steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
The App may rely on or link to third-party services (such as app stores, login providers, and AI providers). Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
